The Access Control Office (ACO) is responsible for the issuance of airport security identification badges to employees who work and require access to the San Diego International Airport (SAN). Individuals who work and require unescorted access to the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) and Sterile Areas must possess an airport issued SAN ID badge. Badge issuance is limited to those individuals who have cleared the FBI-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) as well as the TSA-based Security Threat Assessment (STA) and have frequent and reoccurring need for access.

The Access Control Office (ACO) will validate up to 5 hours parking when conducting business with the ACO.
Note: Due to construction activities, parking is limited

The Access Control Office (ACO) is open from
7:30am – 11:30am Monday - Friday,
1:30pm – 4:00pm Monday -Thursday.
Closed Friday afternoons.
The Access Control Office (ACO) operates by appointments and walk-ins (standby). Note: SAN ID badge training is walk-in (standby) only.

The last walk-in (standby) will be processed at:
11:15am and 3:45pm (Monday-Thursday) or when at maximum capacity in QLess (ACO Scheduler)
11:15am (Fridays); or when at maximum capacity in QLess (ACO Scheduler).

Any remaining walk-ins (standbys) when QLess (ACO Scheduler) is at maximum capacity, will have to return the following business afternoon or business morning.
