SAN ID badges (SIDA & Sterile) are required to be renewed in person annually. Your SAN ID badge will expire on the specific date located on the front/bottom of your SAN ID badge. You can renew your SAN ID badge up to thirty (30) days prior to the expiration date. The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (SDCRAA)/Transportation Security Administration (TSA) require the following for renewal of your SAN ID badge:
STEP ONE:
A. Your Authorized Signatory (Agent) must authorize your badge renewal in the SAFE Authorized Signatory Portal (AS Portal). Once your renewal is authorized, you can move to “STEP ONE B”.
Note: Civilians of government agencies (including LEO agencies) must provide a current CHRC government certification on agency letterhead for all badge renewals (Exempted from CHRC government certification: SDCRAA, LEOs and TSA employees).
B. Please read the list of acceptable documents instructions and be prepared to present up to two forms of identification (see list of acceptable documents) that establish:
i. Identity Verification: i.e. a valid State issued Driver’s License or Identification card..
ii. Work Authorization: prove US Citizenship or work authorization (i.e. US Passport, Resident Card, Social Security card). Please Note: In the event the individual’s name is different from the document(s) used, additional documentation to substantiate the name change is required.
iii. Valid driver's license required for all AOA/Movement drivers.
NOTE: Copies of IDs will not be accepted.
STEP TWO:
A. Attend SAN ID badge renewal training. Please see below for badge renewal training check-in times. Note: Badge renewal training must be successfully completed before renewing your SAN ID badge (SIDA or Sterile).
B. Badge renewal check-in times:
a. Monday – Thursday: 7:30am-9:30am
b. Monday – Thursday: 1:00pm – 2:30pm
c. Closed Fridays
C. Requirements for checking into badge renewal training:
a. Current SAN ID badge (SIDA or Sterile)
b. Valid government issued picture Identification. Note: All AOA and Movement drivers must present a valid Driver’s License
D. Proceed to the Access Control Office (ACO) after successful completion of badge renewal training.
Note: You are required to renew your badge within 48 hours after completing badge renewal training.
Important: All signatories must authorize the badge renewal before the badge holder comes to badge renewal training.
STEP THREE:
Proceed to the Access Control Office to renew your SAN ID badge. The requirements to renew your SAN ID badge are below:
i. Your current SAN ID badge (SIDA or Sterile)
ii. Two (2) forms of acceptable identification (see list of acceptable documents), Note: All AOA/Movement drivers must present a valid Driver’s License
iii. Payment of $10.00 for SAN ID Badge Renewal (Debit / Credit Only) - SDCRAA, LEOs and TSA are exempted
The last walk-in (standby) will be a processed at:
11:15am and 3:45pm (Monday-Thursday) or when at maximum capacity in QLess (ACO Scheduler).
11:15am (Fridays); or when at maximum capacity in QLess (ACO Scheduler).
Closed Friday afternoons
Any remaining walk-ins (standbys) when QLess (ACO Scheduler) is at maximum capacity, will have to return the following business afternoon or business morning.
