A Well-Deserved Win for Our HR Team 

We talk a lot about what makes San Diego International Airport (SAN) a great place to work, and a big part of that starts with the people behind the scenes. 

That’s why we’re excited to celebrate a big win for our Human Resources team. The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority’s HR team has been named the 2026 San Diego SHRM Workplace Excellence Awards Grand Champion, the highest recognition presented by SHRM San Diego. 

It’s an award that recognizes organizations that are doing meaningful work to support their employees, build strong workplace cultures and create environments where people can thrive. 

For our HR team, that work happens every day. Whether they’re helping employees and leaders navigate challenges, improving programs and processes, supporting professional development or finding new ways to strengthen how we work together, they help make the Airport Authority a stronger organization. 

The Workplace Excellence Awards have been presented by SHRM San Diego for more than 25 years, recognizing employers that are making a difference through innovative HR programs, strong workplace cultures and meaningful employee experiences. 

For us, the award is a great reminder that creating a great workplace isn’t just about what we do. It’s about how we support the people who make it all happen.
