California State Senator Catherine Blakespear Visits SAN

The Airport Authority was pleased to welcome California State Senator Catherine Blakespear to San Diego International Airport for a tour of Terminal 1 today, with a special focus on the airport’s integrated public art program.

A former member of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Board of Directors, Sen. Blakespear has a unique connection to SAN and its continued evolution. During the visit, she explored how the new terminal blends infrastructure, architecture, and public art to create a welcoming experience that reflects the culture and creativity of the San Diego region.

Visits like these provide valuable opportunities to engage with civic leaders and share how the Airport Authority is investing in the region’s future. As both a transportation hub and an economic driver, SAN plays an important role in connecting people, supporting local businesses, and creating spaces that inspire travelers and the community alike.
