Around 60 current college students from the San Diego region attended SAN Internship Discovery Day ahead of the Airport Authority’s annual Summer Internships.
The goal of the event was to highlight the many careers at the Authority that come together to support San Diego International Airport. Careers that span beyond flying and operations, such as business, IT, engineering, planning, HR, communications, and finance.
The event was hosted by the Airport Authority’s Human Resources Department, which invited recent and past Airport Authority interns, one from as far back as 2013, who are still with the Authority, to speak on a panel.
“The students’ overall curiosity, professionalism, and engagement throughout the event is what left the strongest impression,” said Airport Authority HR Business Partner and SAN Internship Program Manager, Paulina Zavala.
The next step, says Zavala, will be to post the 13 internship listings on February 25.
The nine-week paid summer internship job listings will be available on SAN.org/careers, LinkedIn, and Handshake. Zavala says the application process is competitive, and recommends that resumes and cover letters be submitted promptly.
