Advisory Committee
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Act calls for the Airport Authority
to form an advisory committee to assist the Airport Authority Board in its responsibilities
related to the planning and development of all airport facilities for the County
of San Diego.
The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to serve
as a sounding board and catalyst for the development of recommendations to the Airport
Authority Board on issues for which the Airport Authority is responsible.
The committee has been established with a membership representing a diverse and
engaged constituency. Its wide range of expertise and community credibility provides
a well balanced sounding board and catalyst for development of recommendations to
the Airport Authority Board. It is of significant importance that the Board is aware
of the needs of the committee's constituencies in forming its policies in order
for its policies to be widely accepted.
The Airport Authority will be adopting highly contentious airport land use plans
for the County Airports and an Airport Master Plan for Lindbergh Field. It is important
that the committee is able to become a conduit between the Board and those it represents
to ensure the Airport Authority is successful in providing the best possible long-term
air transportation solutions for the people of San Diego.
Advisory Committee meetings will be held on a Thursday in each of the months of
January, April, July and October. An agenda for the upcoming meeting will be published
prior to the scheduled meeting date. Presentations made at previous meetings can
be found in the archive.
