Showing Up for the Community We Call Home 

Being a great community partner means more than connecting San Diego to the world. It means showing up for the community we call home. 

San Diego International Airport helps drive jobs, tourism, and business, but our connection to San Diego goes beyond the airfield. It’s also about the people who work here and the ways they choose to give back. 

Throughout the year, SAN employees roll up their sleeves to support our community, from cleaning up local waterways and donating clothing to volunteering with the San Diego Food Bank. 

Recently, a group of SAN team members spent time at the Food Bank, helping pack about 6,000 pounds of fresh produce to help the organization work toward its goal of distributing 25 million pounds of fresh produce to San Diego families each year. 

For the employees who took part, it was about more than the number on the scale. 

“Volunteering at the San Diego Food Bank with our San Diego International Airport group was such a fun and rewarding experience,” said Natalia Strukova. “I enjoyed sorting food alongside my coworkers, chatting, and meeting other volunteers. Hearing how many pounds of food we packed at the end made the experience feel even more meaningful and gave me a real sense of accomplishment.” 

That’s what community partnership looks like to us: showing up, working together, and finding ways to make a difference. We’re grateful to the organizations that give our employees the opportunity to serve and to the SAN team members who give their time and energy to help make San Diego a stronger community.
