This work, which aligns with the City of San Diego’s Downtown Mobility Plan, is intended to improve access to and from the airport.
We’re working to keep disruptions to a minimum, but here’s what to be aware of during construction:
Pacific Highway
*Additional work is scheduled for other portions of Pacific Highway between Palm Street and Washington Street, with some activity expected to start later this month.
Grape Street
**Work hours are subject to change. Please follow posted signage and allow extra time when traveling through the area. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve your trip to and from the airport.
We’re upgrading Grape Street, Palm Street, and Pacific Highway to improve airport access for our customers and the community. Work will happen in stages from summer 2026 through summer 2027. The improvements meet mitigation requirements of the 2020 Airport Development Plan Environmental Impact Report, which aligns with the City’s 2016 Downtown Mobility Plan and the 2028 Midway-Pacific Highway Community Plan.
Once finished, your trip to/from the airport will be smoother and more efficient thanks to:
We’re doing our best to minimize delays, but while we build, please keep an eye out for:
