Our 2019-2020 Sustainability Report

Our 2019-2020 Sustainability Report

Examining our Social, Economic, and Environmental Performance

Author: Sabrina LoPiccolo/Tuesday, December 8, 2020/Categories: Blog

Every year we work on compiling a Sustainability Report which re-affirms our commitment to continuous improvement and transparency in social, economic, and environmental performance. We have released our 2019-2020 Sustainability Report which can be viewed at sustain.san.org.

The report serves as a useful barometer for our relationship to the environment, the traveling public, our stakeholders, and the greater San Diego community. The theme of the report is resiliency, which is especially important as we all respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The online report is organized into three sections: Social, Economic, and Environmental. The yardsticks for measuring progress includes our Organizational Strategic Plan (OSP), which sets forth goals and strategies for the next five years; and our Sustainability Management Program (SMP), which provides a framework for creating a more enduring and resilient airport.

We consulted the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) G4 guidelines in the production of the report. The index lists the social, economic, and environmental criteria that the GRI guidelines suggest, as well as certain specific criteria from the GRI Airport Operators Sector Supplement. The report was developed in accordance with the GRI G4’s “Core” standards.

We invite you to review this year’s report at sustain.san.org.
