Did you know that kids can go behind the scenes to explore San Diego International Airport? Sign up today! Experience up-close views of the runway, including least tern nesting areas. When available, a special visit with our firefighters and harbor police K-9 unit may also be included. The two-hour tours are offered twice a month, on Wednesday and Friday, based on availability. These tours are for students in grades 2 through 8, with a maximum of 22 people, including parent and teacher chaperones. Please use the interactive form below to choose a date. We will respond to you with further information after we receive your request.

The Tour schedule is full through the end of 2014. Please check back in January, 2015 for new dates!

 

Airport Authority Seeking Candidates for Audit Committee Vacancy

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (Airport Authority) is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Audit Committee. Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • An architect or civil engineer licensed to practice in the State of California.
  • A professional with experience in the field of real estate or land economics.
  • A person with public or private sector executive level decision making experience.
  • A person with experience in managing construction of large-scale public works projects.
  • A person who resides within the airport influences area of the San Diego International Airport.
  • A person with experience in environmental justice as it pertains to land use.

Owned and operated by the Airport Authority, San Diego International Airport (SAN) is one of the busiest single-runway commercial service airports in the world and the third-busiest airport in California.
