For the past 16 years, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority has sponsored and participated in I Love a Clean San Diego’s (ILACSD) Creek to Bay Cleanup. If you aren’t familiar with ILACSD, their mission is to lead and inspire the community to actively conserve and enhance the environment through example, outreach, and local involvement. Their vision is a zero waste, litter-free, and environmentally engaged San Diego region. These ideals go hand in hand with the Airport Authority’s, as well as many of our dedicated employees and each year, several Airport Authority employees participate in the effort.

This year’s Creek to Bay will be held Saturday, April 24th. We invite you to clean up your community and prevent litter and pollution from entering our storm drains that lead to the ocean. You can cleanup anytime during the day for as long as you like!

How it works:

  • Register online under the San Diego International Airport group by clicking here.
  • On April 24th, clean up your neighborhood with your own supplies in a socially distanced manner. Clean up whenever it works for you and your family, for however long you can. You’ll be helping support the goal of removing 30,000 pounds of litter from our streets in a single day!
  • Snap a picture of your participation and post it on social media using the hashtags #SANCleanup #SANCreekToBayCleanup, remember to tag the airport (@SanDiegoAirport). Selfies, family group shots, or results of your cleanup are encouraged.
  • Report your totals to ILACSD and celebrate your good work by giving yourself a pat on the back!

We hope you will join us. For more information please visit, creektobay.org and don’t forget to register under the San Diego International Airport group here.
