On Thursday, April 14, 2022, from midnight to 4 p.m., two lanes will be closed on Airport Terminal Road at the San Diego International Airport Terminal 1. Two lanes at Terminal 1 and one loading lane will remain open for traveler pick-up and drop-off throughout the construction activities timeframe.

Airport Traffic Officers will guide vehicles through the Terminal 1 area. Please prepare for traffic congestion and delays when traveling to Terminal 1. SAN recommends that passengers arrive early for their flight and to use caution when traveling through the work area.

The lane closures are in place to accommodate construction for the New T1 project, which is replacing the current Terminal 1 with a modern and efficient facility, improving the access and travel experience at the San Diego International Airport. The first phase of the New T1 project is set to be completed in 2025 with the project’s full completion anticipated in late 2028.
