Daniel Kuperschmid is the newest member of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of San Diego tourism and travel expertise.
As the current President and CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA), Mr. Kupershmid is a valuable addition to the Board as the Authority prepares to build its second phase of the new Terminal 1, scheduled to open in 2028.
“The airport is often the first and last impression of our destination. I look forward to working with the Board to strengthen the connection between air service, accessibility, and the continued growth of San Diego’s tourism economy,” said Mr. Kuperschmid.
Before joining the San Diego Tourism Authority, Kuperschmid worked for Hyatt Hotels for 30 years in leadership positions for properties across the United States, where he oversaw revenue growth, large-scale renovations, and employee and customer satisfaction.
New President and CEO of the Airport Authority, Atif Saeed, said Kuperschmid will help the Authority succeed in its mission to create an exceptional airport experience for the community and the world.
Mr. Kuperschmid was appointed by the Mayor of San Diego, Todd Gloria. His appointment began on March 17 and will serve through January 31, 2027
