You’ll never have to wonder about your next step at SAN; we have our Airport Ambassadors! Think of them as a friendly face available to answer your questions at the Information Desks at pre- and post-security locations at T1 and T2. This group of roughly 200 volunteers go through training and are knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the airport. In fact, our longest-serving Airport Ambassador has 50 years under his belt! So don’t be afraid to utilize their knowledge. For now, here’s a look at their most frequently asked questions:
1. How do I get to my rental car?
On the Rental Car Center shuttle. SAN has a free shuttle that takes passengers to and from the Rental Car Center and the terminals. You can catch it at the Ground Transportation Plazas outside T1 and T2.
2. Where do I catch an Uber/Lyft/Opoli/Wingz?
Rideshares can be taken at the Ground Transportation Plazas at T1 and T2.
3. Where is the lounge?
Currently, T2 has four lounges: United Club, Aspire Lounge, Chase Sapphire Club, and the Delta Sky Club. The Delta Sky Club and the United Club can be found above the Sunset Cove dining Hall in T2 West. The Chase Sapphire Club is between gates 46 and 47 in T2 West. The Aspire Lounge is in T2 East between gates 23 and 33. Lost? Ask an Ambassador to direct you!
4. How do I get to/from T1 and T2?
Passengers need to take the free, Inter-Terminal shuttle curbside at T1 and T2. A post-security connector between T1 and T2 is scheduled to be built in 2028.
5. How do I get on the MTS bus?
The MTS 992 is the public MTS bus that stops at the airport. It arrives at the Elevated Departures level at T1 and T2 and takes passengers to downtown locations in San Diego.
