Southwest Airlines Announces New Red Eye Flight from San Diego to Boston Starting Summer 2026

Exciting news for travelers flying out of San Diego International Airport!

On October 9th, Southwest Airlines officially announced a new nonstop route to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), set to launch on June 4, 2026. This new service will operate once daily as a redeye flight, offering passengers a convenient overnight option to the East Coast.

What This Means for Travelers
With this new SAN-BOS flight, Southwest is expanding its East Coast offerings, making it easier for San Diego residents and visitors to reach Boston, one of the nation’s key hubs for business, culture, and history. The redeye timing means you can depart late at night and arrive in Boston early the next morning, perfect for maximizing your time in the city.

Growing Southwest Presence at SAN
Boston will be the 43rd nonstop destination Southwest Airlines offers from SAN and will increase the airline’s daily nonstop flights from SAN to 134.

Alaska Airlines: 1-2 flights per day
JetBlue: 2-3 flights per day
Delta Air Lines: 1 flight per day
