Access to SAN: I-5 Offramp to West Hawthorn Street Closed Feb. 21st

Caltrans will close State Route 163 (SR-163) connectors to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) and the northbound I-5 off-ramp to West Hawthorn Street Saturday, February 21 from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. for roadwork. Motorists travelling northbound on SR-163 will continue north, connect to westbound I-8 and connect to I-5. Motorists traveling southbound on SR-163 will connect to southbound I-5, take the Imperial Avenue off ramp, and turn left to the northbound I-5 on-ramp. West Hawthorn Street motorist will continue northbound I-5 to the Sassafras Street/India Street off-ramp, turn left to Sassafras Street to southbound Pacific Highway and proceed south to West Hawthorn Street. The maintenance work schedule is subject to change due to weather, traffic incidents, or other maintenance considerations.
