SAN DIEGO – May 29, 2014 – Users of San Diego International Airport may experience traffic delays on the roadways accessing the airport on Sunday, June 1 due to the annual Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon. The race is scheduled to begin at 6:15 a.m. near Balboa Park. Freeways and roadways used to access the airport will be impacted beginning around 4:00 a.m. and are expected to last until 2:00 p.m.
All lanes in both directions of North Harbor Drive in front of the airport will be open at all times, but with almost 30,000 runners expected to participate in the event, airport users should allow extra time when coming to the airport. See the map below for the course route.
