Frontier Airlines to Add Seasonal Nonstop Flights Between Orlando and San Diego International Airport

Thursday, September 8, 2022

Frontier Airlines will add seasonal nonstop service between Orlando, Fla. via Orlando International Airport (MCO) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) between November 5, 2022, and January 3, 2023. Flights will operate daily between the two destinations, the flights were last offered by Frontier Airlines in March and April 2021.

“From one destination to another, we appreciate Frontier Airlines adding a seasonal nonstop flight between our two cities,” said Kimberly Becker, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority President & CEO. “The holiday months during which this service will be offered is a popular time for Southern Californians to travel and we welcome those visiting from Central Florida.”

Orlando is best known as the home of four theme parks – Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando, and LEGOLAND Florida Resort. Beyond the family fun of theme parks, visitors can take in a plethora of wildlife including birds and the infamous Florida gators, or try a guided canoe or kayak tour through the northernmost headwaters of the Everglades watershed. Orlando boasts more than 5,000 restaurants featuring celebrity chefs and local favorites, craft breweries and wineries, and nightlife options both in and outside of the theme parks.

With the addition of the seasonal Orlando route, Frontier Airlines offers nonstop service to four other destinations – Dallas, Texas, Denver, Colo., Las Vegas, and Phoenix. To view schedules, fares, and flight times, please visit

Owned and operated by San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (Airport Authority), San Diego International Airport (SAN) is one of the busiest single-runway commercial service airports in the world and the third-busiest airport in California. SAN contributes nearly $12 billion in economic activity for the region by connecting the world to San Diego and San Diego to the world. In November 2021, the Airport Authority began construction on the New T1 which includes the replacement of the existing Terminal 1, improvements to the airfield, improved transportation connectivity to the airport, and a new administration building. The New T1 program’s total project budget is $3.4 billion and is estimated to create between 15,000 to 20,000 construction-related jobs.
