SAN DIEGO – May 2, 2017 – Condor Airlines inaugurated new seasonal nonstop service between San Diego and Frankfurt, Germany on May 1, 2017. The new flight is the only nonstop connection between San Diego and Continental Europe.
“This is an exciting time for Condor as we continue to expand our route network in the important trans-Atlantic market. We are very pleased to introduce this new link between San Diego and Frankfurt, giving Southern California a unique choice for their travels to Germany” states Jens Boyd, Director Long Haul & Revenue Management Condor. “With our numerous partner airlines we offer flights beyond Frankfurt to over 120 destinations across Europe at very competitive prices. Furthermore San Diego is a very attractive destination for European tourists and we also will stimulate traffic from this direction.”
The seasonal service will run through October 5, 2017 with up to three weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The outbound flight on Mondays for example, DE 2059, departs San Diego at 8:50 p.m. and arrives at Frankfurt International at 5:40 p.m. the following evening. The returning flight on Mondays, DE 2058, departs Frankfurt at 2:25 p.m. local time and arrives in San Diego at 6:00 p.m. The route will utilize a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft and offer three classes of service: Business Class, Premium Class and Economy Class.
All Condor passengers receive complimentary checked baggage, complimentary beverages and meals and complimentary in-flight entertainment. Condor’s business class features reclining seats (170 degrees), a personal in-seat, premium touch-screen (15 inches) entertainment system, power and USB ports at every seat and gourmet, five-course meals with complimentary wine, beer and cocktails and an in-flight, well-being amenity kit. Business class passengers also have access to priority check-in and business class lounges at most airports. Premium class features seats with added legroom, leg rests and adjustable headrests, a premium in-flight, in-seat entertainment system with an extended program, USB ports at every seat, premium meals and complimentary beverages and an in-flight, well-being amenity kit. Condor passengers can also earn and redeem miles in the Star Alliance Miles and More frequent flier program.

By providing nonstop service to Frankfurt from San Diego, we’re opening new doors to global markets that will attract exports and lucrative foreign investment for the region,” said City of San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer. “San Diego is a great connection for Condor Airlines and we are proud to welcome them to our city,” he added.
Besides Frankfurt, the service will provide travelers with convenient one-stop access to European destinations such as Paris, Vienna, Prague, Venice, Berlin, Rome, Zagreb and many more.
“This service does more than simply connect San Diego to Germany – it opens up all of central Europe to San Diego travelers,” said April Boling, Board Chairman for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. “This nonstop flight will connect family members, and provide leisure and business travelers with yet another option for these visitors to conveniently discover the treasures of Europe,” she added.
Flights from San Diego to Frankfurt start as low as $329.99 (one-way) in economy, $439.99 (one-way) in premium and $1,089.99 (one-way) in business class.
The inaugural flight was welcomed into San Diego with an aircraft salute before arriving at the gate. Departing passengers enjoyed entertainment, traditional German appetizers, and an official ribbon cutting ceremony prior to boarding.
