SAN DIEGO – March 27, 2015 – Passengers traveling through San Diego International Airport (SAN) can now catch up on the latest news and entertainment with CNN Airport Network.
SAN has begun installing television monitors throughout the airport. Once construction is complete, 25 monitors will feature CNN Airport Network in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
“Providing excellent customer service is about more than just efficiently moving people from Point A to Point B,” said Thella F. Bowens, President/CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. “We want to ensure that passengers have every opportunity to stay connected while they’re at the airport, before, after or in-between flights.”
CNN Airport Network is the only live satellite-delivered airport programming service specifically designed for the busy traveler. The network delivers live daily news from CNN and HLN, original travel features, entertainment programming from HBO, TBS, TNT and TCM, and live sporting events from premiere sports leagues such as the NBA, MLB and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.
“We’re thrilled to begin service in San Diego and are proud to continue growing the roster of airports that show our network,” said Debbie Cooper, President of CNN Airport Network. “Our programming lineup is evolving to deliver marquee entertainment to busy travelers at all major hubs across the country.”
SAN has added a number of new amenities intended to help keep customers connected and entertained, including free Wi-Fi throughout the terminals; the Airspace Lounge, an airline-style club lounge open to all passengers and featuring computer terminals and a full bar and food menu; and 84 new shops and restaurants.
More than 50,000 passengers come through SAN every day. Last year, SAN saw a record 18.7 million passengers travel in and out of San Diego.
“We are committed to ensuring that each and every one of those passengers has a first-rate travel experience,” Bowens said.
