SAN DIEGO – July 1, 2015 – The Airport Authority Board today adopted a resolution that removes the fingerprinting requirement from the Airport Authority’s background check process for several ground transportation providers, including Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) such as Lyft and Uber, as well as taxi cab providers and shared ride vans or Vehicles for Hire. The resolution modifies the Airport Authority’s codes to help facilitate the issuance of TNC permits and ensure a level playing field for all ground transportation providers at San Diego International Airport (SAN).
The resolution passed unanimously with Board member Jim Desmond absent.
