If you’re planning to pick up or return a rental car at San Diego International Airport’s Rental Car Center on Tuesday, March 10, please allow a little extra time for your trip.
Caltrans has scheduled roadwork on Interstate 5 (I-5) that may impact access to the Rental Car Center throughout the day.
What’s happening?
- The northbound I-5 India Street offramp will be fully closed.
- The leftmost lane of the northbound I-5 India Street onramp will also be closed.
- Work is scheduled from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. for drainage improvements.
How to get around it
During the closure, motorists traveling north on I-5 are advised to exit at Old Town Avenue and follow posted detour signs to reach their destination.
Plan ahead
While the work is planned for Tuesday, please note that construction schedules can change due to weather, traffic incidents, or other maintenance needs. Travelers heading to the airport or the Rental Car Center should consider building extra time into their travel plans.
