The federal REAL ID enforcement is now in effect for all passengers. At SAN, we want to ensure your trip goes smoothly and without delays so please come prepared with a REAL ID or another acceptable form of ID by the TSA before you fly.
What is a REAL ID?
A REAL ID is a federally-compliant ID that’s different from traditional state-issued IDs. They generally have a star in the upper right-hand corner. California has a gold bear with a star.

You can start the application process online at DMV.CA.GOV and finish in person at your local DMV branch.
What other forms of ID are accepted at the TSA checkpoint?
