Chief Auditor
Lee Parravano serves as Chief Auditor for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, a role he has held since April 4, 2018. Appointed by the Board of Directors, he operates independently of Airport Authority management and reports directly to the Board through the Audit Committee. In this capacity, he leads all internal audit functions, including work performed by external consultants, with a strong emphasis on transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
With more than 23 years of comprehensive auditing experience as of April 2026, Lee brings deep expertise across a broad range of disciplines. His professional background includes investigations into fraud and irregularities, as well as extensive work in compliance, performance, and financial audits. He has also provided advisory services and conducted information technology analyses to support organizational effectiveness and risk management.
Prior to joining the Airport Authority, Lee served for five years as the Internal Auditor for the San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System (SDCERS), where he oversaw audit activities for the organization’s pension plan administration. Earlier in his career, he spent 11 years with White Nelson Diehl Evans, an accounting, audit, and tax advisory firm, where he advanced to Senior Audit Manager.
Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds several professional certifications, including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
