Alexander Xavier Charles is an accomplished vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator with over 20 years of musical experience across a wide array of genres and settings. His infectiously vivacious approach to music has earned him a reputation as a highly virtuosic player and an even more engaging stage performer. After making his Carnegie Hall debut in 2019, Charles has since gone on to perform on stages across the United States and Europe for audiences including dignitaries, heads of state, and other prominent public figures.
He holds a Bachelor’s and a Masters degree in music performance from West Virginia University and Florida State University, respectively, and has served as principal bassoonist in the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and most recently the United States Navy Fleet Bands. Currently, Alexander serves as the co-founder and director of the ALXC Entertainment Group, San Diego’s premiere source for bespoke musical entertainment. He is a former Navy Musician and a brother of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, an organization dedicated to the advancement of music in America.
