For anyone who has made the grueling drive from San Diego to Santa Barbara, you’ll understand when I say going through Los Angeles traffic, no matter what time of day, is umm…horrible. Lucky for us, Alaska Airlines begins daily nonstop service to Santa Barbara via Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) from San Diego International Airport (SAN) today! Say goodbye to slow-moving traffic, horns, lights, windy roads, and billboards galore. Now you can jump on a plane and in under an hour be in beautiful Santa Barbara at a vineyard sipping in the views.

Alaska Airlines is the only airline that flies this route which will provide greater travel flexibility for students, leisure, and business travelers heading to California’s Central Coast. Need some travel inspiration? Santa Barbara is known for its bountiful beaches, vineyards, and award-winning wineries as well as being home to the University of California, Santa Barbara. Looking to put an itinerary together for your stay? The tourist organization, Visit Santa Barbara, has information on various things to do, places to stay, wineries to visit, and places to eat and drink.

So, if you’re looking for a quick getaway where you don’t have to sit in the car for hours to get there, head to alaskaair.com and explore schedule and fares.
