Wednesday, February 2, 2022

Allegiant Air has announced it will add year-round nonstop service between Austin, Texas via Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) beginning April 20. The airline will also add seasonal nonstop service between Sioux Falls, S.D. via Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD) and SAN from May 19 through August 12.

“We welcome Allegiant’s new year-round service to Austin and summer seasonal flights Sioux Falls,” said Kimberly Becker, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority President & CEO. “Allegiant continues to grow its presence at SAN, providing service to unique destinations across the U.S.”

Austin is a new destination for Allegiant Air and the only year-round service the carrier offers from SAN. The service will operate two times weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Known as the “Live Music Capital of the World®,” Austin has long been promoting the arts and culture of this unique Texas city through music. Musicians play everywhere from the airport to the grocery stores, and the city is home to many world-famous festivals. The city also boasts the best in culinary offerings, museums, shopping, and beautiful outdoor spaces.

Allegiant Air offered seasonal nonstop service between Sioux Falls and SAN during the summer of 2020 and will now resume flights this summer. Flights will operate two times weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. Sioux Falls offers a variety of unique experiences, including the ability to kayak or canoe right through downtown. Falls Park is where you can view the waterfalls and catch live music at a nearby outdoor venue. There are many family-friendly activities and adventures for those that enjoy the outdoors.

Austin and Sioux Falls join eight other destinations served by Allegiant. The airline also offers nonstop flights to Phoenix/Mesa, Ariz., Bellingham and Pasco, Wash., El Paso, Texas, Eugene and Medford, Ore., Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Las Vegas, Nev.
