The Airport Authority is recognizing Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and the contributions of our Asian American and Pacific Islander employees.

Allegiant Air has announced it will add nonstop service between Provo, Utah via Provo Municipal Airport (PVU) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) beginning August 18. Flights will operate two times weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.

Each year Honor Flight San Diego escorts World War II and Korean War veterans on a round trip flight from San Diego International Airport (SAN) to Washington, DC to visit Arlington National Cemetery for the Changing of the Guard ceremony, WWII, Lincoln, Korea, Vietnam, USMC, and Air Force memorials, and the National Guard Museum.

April through September is the least tern nesting season at SAN. Since 1970, this endangered migratory sea bird has found a suitable nesting site each year in the sand and gravel located in four oval areas between the runway and airplane taxiway.

The San Diego County Regional (Airport Authority) is participating in the 20^th Annual Creek To Bay Cleanup! Join the airport and I Love a Clean San Diego on Saturday, April 23^rd  as we come together to clean up our local environment. We’ll be at Spanish Landing from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. helping prevent litter and pollution from entering our waterways.
