About the Artist

Description

Seda Saar is an Iranian-born artist living and working in Malibu, California. Trained in interior architecture at London Metropolitan University, she has worked on themed-entertainment design projects worldwide. Inspired by the restorative qualities of nature and the sacred Islamic architecture of her childhood, Saar’s artistic practice includes painting, photography, and installation, with a focus on geometry and spatial relationships. Saar’s Pacific Passage offers a reminder of how movement in the airport reflects journeys that extend beyond their physical dimensions. Using mirrored materials that evoke the curved forms of ocean waves, she creates a fully immersive installation that channels the rhythmic push and pull of the ocean. Her piece bends and refracts light, generating ever-changing patterns in shades of blue. Saar’s work blends geometric forms with thoughtful use of color to connect viewers to the expansive and deep ocean, fostering moments of peace and wonder.
