Your Flight Comes with a Show 

Who says waiting for your flight has to mean sitting at the gate and watching the clock? At SAN, your pre-flight plans can include live entertainment. 

SAN’s Arts Program brings talented local artists to the airport terminals, giving travelers plenty of opportunities to enjoy a performance while they wait for takeoff. 

And if you’re wondering just how unexpected the airport entertainment can be, ask anyone who was at SAN in September. While waiting for his own flight, San Diego singer-songwriter Jason Mraz surprised travelers with an impromptu performance in the terminal. One minute, you’re heading to your gate. The next, you’re watching a hometown favorite perform live.  

SAN maintains an ongoing calendar with fun mix of San Diego talent and performing artists. Catch the innovative harp sounds of San Diego-born Tasha Smith Godinez, pianist, guitarist, and songwriter Todd Davidson, or the expressive pop sounds of Noël Tsoukalas. 

And that’s just the beginning. The lineup also includes award-winning pianist Petra Persolja, Ocean Beach singer-songwriter Pozay, flamenco and classical guitarist David Maldonado, singer-songwriter Evan Diamond, guitarist Ru Ramo, and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Linwood Polk. 

Performances take place throughout the day, making it easy to add some arts and culture to your airport experience, whether you’re arriving early, grabbing a bite, or have some extra time before boarding. 

So next time you’re at SAN, don’t just wait for your flight.
