SAN DIEGO – March 30, 2021 – After an extensive nationwide search, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority President and CEO, Kimberly Becker has promoted Hampton Brown to Vice President, Revenue Generation, Marketing, & Innovation. In this role, he is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the revenue generation, innovation, marketing, and air service development functions at San Diego International Airport (SAN).

“Mr. Brown has been an integral part of the Airport Authority since joining the organization in 2004,” said Kimberly Becker, President and CEO of the Airport Authority. “Through the years, he has gained valuable experience in the airport's relationship with airlines, our tenants, and the broader San Diego community. He regularly consults with regional stakeholders on how the airport can support their air service needs to enhance global commerce and our regional economy. Mr. Brown’s experience and leadership will be instrumental as we look toward recovery from the impacts of COVID-19 and development of the New T1.”

Mr. Brown has, over the years, been a key player in establishing SAN as a true international airport, greatly expanding the airport’s overseas routes to include destinations such as England, Japan, Germany, and Switzerland. During the pandemic, he has worked with airlines to add routes to destinations with abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, including Missoula, Mont. and Jackson Hole, Wyo.

In 2004, Mr. Brown joined the Airport Authority as Air Service Specialist and has held progressive management positions within the organization, most recently Interim Vice President, Revenue Generation, Marketing, & Innovation. Before joining the Airport Authority, Mr. Brown was a Senior Consultant with Edwards & Kelcey where he worked with airports across the U.S. He has also held positions in the areas of market research, international business operations, and logistics planning.

Mr. Brown holds a B.A. in political science from Allegheny College and a master’s degree in international management from the University of Maryland. He’s accredited through the Global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme which is an executive development program for airport executives worldwide.
