Air Canada Begins Nonstop Flights Between San Diego International Airport and Montréal

Today, Air Canada celebrated its first nonstop flight from San Diego International Airport (SAN) to Montréal, Québec, Canada via Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

Today, Air Canada celebrated its first nonstop flight from San Diego International Airport (SAN) to Montréal, Québec, Canada via Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL). This is the first-ever nonstop service between the two cities. Flights operate three times weekly during the peak summer travel season with arrivals into San Diego on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and departures from San Diego on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

“The new flights to Montréal are a welcome addition to our international route offerings,” said Kimberly Becker, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority President and CEO. “Montréal has been our largest and most requested market within Canada and serves as a connection to other Canadian cities and beyond. I would like to congratulate Air Canada on their expansion at SAN.”

“San Diego is an extremely popular destination, appealing to Canadians and global customers alike who enjoy the leisure activities, recreation, arts and culture, tourism and hospitality Southern California is renowned for. With customer interest in travel resuming post pandemic, we are happy to launch new service between San Diego and Montréal to connect these two cities with this important and exciting new route,” said Philippe Boulanger, Managing Director, U.S. & Caribbean, Air Canada.

The new service features Air Canada’s flagship international aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, on the route. Flight AC776 departs San Diego at 10:10 p.m. and arrives in Montréal at 5:45 a.m. Flight AC777 departs Montréal at 6:30 a.m. and arrives in San Diego at 9:35 a.m. All flight times are local. Flights operate through Sept. 6, 2023.

In 2019, SAN welcomed 25 million passengers and offered nonstop flights to destinations worldwide. The airport is an economic driver for the region, contributing nearly $12 billion in economic activity in 2019 and supports nearly 116,600 jobs. With anticipated passenger growth in the future, the Airport Authority is continuing progress with the New Terminal 1 program that will replace Terminal 1 with a larger, more efficient facility and other improvements that enhance the airport experience.
