Sam is
entering his fourth year at the University of California, San Diego as a Management
Science major and member of the Phi Beta Lambda business organization. He expects
to graduate in 2012. Prior to joining the Authority, Sam spent his past two summers
working in the energy industry, first at the California Public Utilities Commission
and then at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. In these experiences, he learned how
government entities operate and began to understand the importance of teamwork and
focus in finishing a project. At the Airport Authority, Sam hopes to understand
how different departments work together and ultimately hopes to be known as Senior
Risk Master (title courtesy of Cindy Steele) upon completion of his internship.
Sam grew up in San Francisco and has always loved sports. In high school, he played basketball and ran cross country and track, all activities he still enjoys today. Additionally, Sam likes to eat Phil’s BBQ, go to the beach, and volunteer with various organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and Best Buddies.
