Jackrin was born in Simi Valley, CA, but spent most of his life in San Diego, CA. Once graduating Westview High School, he stayed close to home at the University of California, San Diego to study Structural Engineering. While Jackrin is adept with his engineering courses, he hopes to eventually work in the project management industry or continue his education with a Master’s Degree in engineering. He will act as the 2013-2014 President of the Society of Civil and Structural Engineers, a student organization founded to foster and progress the careers of Structural and Civil Engineering students at UCSD. Working with the Facilities Development Department at the Airport Authority, Jackrin hopes to gain more experience with project management in engineering to apply those skills and methods back to his organization at UCSD. On a larger scale, he believes that SDCRAA’s mission goal of “Mastering the Art of Airports” is about seamlessly integrating the customer from one destination to the next, and having SAN be an unforgettable part of that journey.

Jackrin enjoys staying busy– always needing something to do whether professional or personal. Besides long walks on the beach, he enjoys running (most recently finishing his first marathon at the Rock N Roll Marathon in San Diego), swimming, volleyball, photography, and eating. He likes to explore different restaurants and hole-in-the-walls because he believes that everybody can share and experience culture through food. Some of his favorite food places in San Diego include Lucha Libre, J-Wok, Tabe, Tacos El Gordo, Lappert’s Ice Cream, and any local Farmer’s Market (Yelp is his best friend). Also, one of his favorite sights of San Diego is Balboa Park, with the many museums and classic ambiance. His favorite airport is Suvarnabhumi Airport, or BKK, because his family is from Thailand and it is also the most photographed location on Instagram.
