Daniel grew up in Danville, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has had a passion for aviation since a very young age. Because he knew he wanted to pursue an aviation career, he attended Florida Institute of Technology’s Aeronautics Program. In May of 2012, Daniel graduated from Florida Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management. He enjoyed his classes in his final year the most, taking Airport Planning, AutoCAD for Airport Environments, and Aviation Security. Throughout college, Daniel was able to gain a greater appreciation for aviation and found areas he wanted to pursue.

While attending Florida Tech, Daniel was active within campus life. For three years he was a resident assistant on campus and was a student assistant for the Undergraduate Admissions Office. His involvement in student life included Vice President of Florida Tech’s American Association of Airport Executives Student Chapter, treasurer of the Campus Activities Board, and active in many other student organizations. He wanted to join the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority’s internship program to gain an understanding of the San Diego region and airport planning. This is his third internship, after having worked for Southwest Airlines and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Daniel is excited to gain more experience and a deeper understanding of airport planning projects and how the airport planning team Masters the Art of Airports.
