Dan was born and raised in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota just 15 minutes Northeast of St. Paul. After high school, he began his collegiate career at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in the Commercial Aviation Program where he obtained his Private Pilots License. He soon learned that being a professional pilot was not his true passion in life, so he switched majors. He is currently a Senior in the Airport Management Program at the University of North Dakota and enjoys the challenges that both the business and core aviation courses have to offer. At UND, he has been involved as a Resident Assistant for three years, and serves as Vice President of the UND Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives. Beyond his academics, he enjoys being outdoors, including biking, running, and rollerblading. As well, he enjoys writing and currently plays the Violin.

He was motivated to apply for the internship at the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority ever since conversing with a past intern that worked here last year. From this experience, he wants to obtain his Master’s through an MBA or MPL program and work his way up to the executive level for a major airline or medium to large-hub airport. He also wants to start up a non-profit organization that helps get disadvantaged youth interested in the field of aviation. Any outreach that he could achieve, whether it is getting youth interested in this field or working to help those interested students achieve the first step by getting into college, would be very interesting, fun, and fulfilling.
