Chris
is a San Diego native entering his third year at the University of California,
San Diego as an Environmental Systems/Earth Science major with a double minor in
Biology and Urban Studies and Planning. He works as a research assistant at Scripps
Institution of Oceanography developing computational models of complex systems in
the context of deforestation and urban slums. He also volunteers at the clinic on
campus as a Student Health Advocate, working with patients and implementing public
health programs. His hobbies include hiking, cooking vegetarian fare, indulging
his caffeine addiction, napping in Balboa Park underneath the flight path, and eating
at Extraordinary Desserts in Little Italy obscenely frequently. He plans to pursue
a doctorate degree in environmental modeling or engineering after completing his
undergraduate education. Ultimately, Chris would like to live abroad, probably working
in academia or industry as a consultant addressing the rapidly shifting nonlinearities
of the human and natural environments.
