Austin
comes to the Airport from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where
he is pursuing a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Organizational
Behavior and Human Resource Management. He will be graduating from BYU’s Marriott
School in April 2010, and plans to eventually pursue an MBA, hopefully from Stanford,
Columbia, or MIT. His passion for management and organizational behavior developed
as a result of working for several employers that were unable to succeed due to
a lack of managerial effectiveness, despite having great products and services.
This passion was also reinforced during the two years he spent in Russia on a service
mission for his church, which was the most impactful and life-changing experience
of his life (as short as that life has been to this point). He sees himself beginning
in HR, but eventually plans to work at the executive level. Austin has three main
objectives for his internship experience: to contribute in a unique and meaningful
way, to expand his base of knowledge and experience, and to create new and satisfying
relationships with coworkers at the Airport Authority.
