Alexandra
was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She first fell
in love with aviation when her cousin took her mountain flying around the Knik Glacier
in Alaska, and now can’t imagine doing anything else with her life. She is currently
attending Purdue University pursuing a dual BS/MS degree in Aviation Management
with concentrations in both airline and airport management, along with a double
minor in Spanish and Organizational Leadership and Supervision. She is actively
involved with her university and aviation department serving as the President of
Women in Aviation and the Historian of Alpha Eta Rho. She also takes part in two
university-sponsored research groups. One is dedicated to finding an alternative
fuel for general aviation aircraft by testing various biofuels. The other research
group is partnered with a major US airline to help with resource analysis and optimization
for their aircraft turn times. As for her future career in aviation, she wants to
steer clear of accounting but is open to all other possibilities.
Alexandra cherishes her family, pets and friends, and tries to spend as much time as possible with them. This is her first time in San Diego and she is absolutely thrilled to be here! She is confident that everything she learns from this internship will help polish her into becoming a dynamic asset to the future of the aviation industry.
