Alejandra is an engineering student at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. She is going into her senior year and is looking to major in civil engineering and minoring in mechanical engineering. She looks forward to being president of the NAU American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter for the upcoming year. Alejandra hopes to attend UCSD to receive a Master’s Degree in structural engineering with an emphasis in seismic analysis. She was born in San Diego, CA and lives in the Paradise Hills area. Her favorite classes are structures and statics. Her family is Costa Rican and she loves to travel to there. Alejandra has been there almost 20 times and she is only 21 years old. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves to listen to all kinds of music. Her favorite pastime includes drawing, painting, sketching, and designing tattoos (though she doesn’t have any). In the future she would like to move to Costa Rica and start her career abroad. With the help of her family there, she hopes to give back to the community by helping restore the poor roadway system in the country. She is deathly afraid of spiders! Besides that, she loves animals and even worked at the San Diego Zoo for the last 2 summers.
