Volunteer Airport Ambassadors

Volunteer Airport Ambassadors (VAA) are San Diego 's information source for business and leisure travelers, as well as meeters and greeters at San Diego International Airport. Visible in their green polo shirts with “Airport Information” emblazoned on the back, more than 300 highly trained VAA provide free airport information and terminal building way finding assistance. Volunteers have specific information pertaining to hotels, rental cars, taxicabs, courtesy shuttles, or public transportation. Volunteers staff information booths in the baggage claim area of Terminals 1 and 2; roam the terminals providing mobile information; and drive a courtesy cart in Terminal 2 West (post security) to assist passengers who may require mobility assistance. Assistance is available at two information booths:

  • Terminal 1 – 619.231.7361
  • Terminal 2 – 619.231.5230

Daily hours of operation at both locations are 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

For additional assistance or information, please visit the Volunteer Airport Ambassador web site maintained by Travelers Aid Society of San Diego.

The VAA program is administered by Travelers Aid Society of San Diego and managed by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.
