Terminal Jazz
San
Diego International Airport is proud to present its award-winning,
complimentary jazz program - Terminal Jazz. On the
second Friday of every month the Airport features exciting
jazz artists who perform in the Airport's Terminal 2 Baggage
Claim.
This free jazz series is part of San Diego International
Airport's Performing Arts Program designed to bring community
enrichment to the region and an atmosphere of enjoyment and
relaxation within the Airport's wonderful facilities. Check
for a night or two when you can join us. It's
a great way to sit back and unwind.
Performances are from 7:00 - 9:15 p.m. on the second Friday of each month

Dave Scott Jazz
San Diego City College has its very own weatherman
and jazz artist on campus. But you won’t see
Dave Scott in front of the camera singing about
jazzy weather patterns in his signature bow tie as
he does on KUSI Channel 51. He is a local jazz artist
and accomplished soloist, playing various clubs
around the city, and recently composed the theme
music to KUSI’s “Good Morning San Diego.”

Agent 22
Centered around the Chapman Stick, an electric
musical instrument designed for the “Free Hands”
tapping method of both hands parallel to the frets,
Agent 22 has been nothing but unique since they
began. Their music has been called alternative,
jazz, rock, pop, world music, progressive, funk and
even neoclassical.

Keith Jacobson Jazz
Keith’s unique style and technique combined with a fantastic collection of tunes keep his sets fun and exciting to listen to from start to finish. From elegant classical music and beautiful pop ballads to lively jazz and dance tunes, Keith has the sound to enliven any atmosphere.

Ritmo Caribe
Ritmo Caribe was founded by world-renowned musician, composer, arranger and lead vocalist, Manny Cepeda. Manny combines Caribbean, salsa, merengue and cuban music to create a flavor of Latin music unique to his group. The group mixes live performances and the highest technological aid of Sample Sequenced Music to create enthusiasm guaranteed to satisfy your emotions.

Breezin’
Breezin’ is a fun loving, high energy, dynamic and versatile band that performs a variety of standards, classics and contemporary music. Hot, cool, smooth & groovin’ instrumental and vocal arrangements feature jazz, blues, R&B, rock, pop, swing and Latin styles from the 1940s through the present.

Kamau Kenyatta Jazz
Originally from Detroit, pianist/saxophonist Kamau Kenyatta is also a talented performer-composer-arranger-producer who now resides in San Diego. He has worked with jazz greats such as Earl Klugh and Hubert Laws. Kamau’s trio performs original music and jazz standards as well as boleros from Latin America with a jazz twist.

Rob and Amber Whitlock
This musical couple is truly mesmerizing. Rob is a Hammond B3 organist who also plays piano and keyboards in addition to producing, writing and arranging. Amber is an off-the-walls vocalist whose sound brings feelings to the surface that you didn’t know you were having. Together, these two put on an amazing jazz fusion show.

Allan Phillips Jazz
Allan Phillips is an innovator who draws from his extensive command of musical instruments to work textures and ethnic styles into melodic blends. Raw, energetic percussion, keyboard, string and vocal performances place Allan in a world of his own as he communicates through music — from pop and world music to jazz and Latin rhythms.

Joe Marillo Group
Joe Marillo, San Diego’s Godfather of Jazz, excels on tenor saxophone as a master of improvisation. He travels between mainstream, bebop, ballads and funky blues, easily using his haunting tone to express his soul through jazz.

Chuck Perrin returns with his quartet. Beat.itude infuses notable top forties favorites – oldies and goodies – with the spontaneity of jazz improvisation. This combination of vocalists with great instrumentalists is the perfect way to end the evening.
SASSY - Solo Artist Series
The Airport Authority's newest series of the Performing Arts Program is the Solo Artist Series, SASSY, with an exciting and varied line-up of musicians. The monthly SASSY series is free and provides a great way to enhance one's airport experience. This monthly series includes some of San Diego 's finest performers ranging from classical guitar to vibes.
Performances are from 4:30 - 6:45 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month

January 25, 2008 - Reiko Obata
California native, Reiko Obata takes Koto, the traditional Japanese 13-string harp and adds her own sense of melody and style, with a touch of folk, New Age and jazz.

National and international award-winning accordionist Louis Fanucchi’s repertoire includes numerous genres: Cajun, Tex-Mex, Tango Nuevo, jazz, rock, pop, and Klezmer only name a few.
