Airport Authority

About the Authority

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority was created on January 1, 2003, as an independent agency to manage the day-to-day operations of San Diego International Airport and address the region’s long-term air transportation needs.

Board Members

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is governed by a nine-member Board, with three additional members serving ex officio. Board members serve 3-year terms and may be reappointed.

Several awards highlight the great accomplishments at San Diego International Airport and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Becoming the world's first LEED Platinum certified commercial airport terminal in 2013 is the most recent highlight.

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Board regularly convenes on matters connected to its state-mandated mission to effectively manage and operate San Diego International Airport and address the region's long-term air transportation needs. Additionally, an Executive Committee comprised of three Board members meet regularly to address specific areas of management.

San Diego International Airport receives zero tax funding and is a transparent organization dedicated to serving our local community as well as the millions of travelers who pass through our doors each year. We welcome public interest in the way we do business.
